CD not very useful

I think this is a good book to introduce the classical guitar. It will show you how to read music and many of the exercises are very useful for teaching the notes.
However the CD is really bad. Most of the exercises are not on the CD, so the student who is trying to learn how to read the music is put in the position of not knowing how its supposed to sound-- this is a major disadvantage, especially with less simple rhythms.
Next, the CD is fake syntho music, not real classical guitar. That is a real disappointment since you want to hear what the guitar is supposed to sound like. Tone being one of the main points. Finally, if they went to the trouble of producing a CD of synthesized music to illustrate the exercises, its just wrong that they didn't put all of the exercises on the CD.
I prefer Noad's solo Guitar (although it has a similar problem with lacking the exercises on the CD, but at least its a real guitar) and Parkening's Methond (which has ALL the exercises on the CD).

Good Book for the newbie

This book was the recommended book for the Guitar course i took in the college. Its a good book for a newbie who knows nothing about a guitar. ITs a good starter book for playing guitar. has lots of simple songs to practice and teh CD that comes along is also good. It also teaches how to read music notation.
